About the Collection
What is included in Peter Lik’s Celestial Collection?
Peter Lik’s Celestial Collection turns to the night sky, where the Milky Way arcs over some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth. In the American West, starlight falls on the red rock of Zion and Canyonlands, Bonsai Rock on Lake Tahoe, the coast of Big Sur, and Scripps Pier in La Jolla. In Hawaii, the galaxy rises above the summit of Mauna Kea.
The collection continues to the sea stacks of La Push, Washington, the wheat fields of Oregon, the lavender of Valensole in France, and a starlit cove in Cornwall, England, then reaches beyond our own galaxy to Andromeda.
How are Peter Lik celestial prints made?
Every Peter Lik celestial print is produced in-house at the LIK Fine Art studio in Las Vegas, one of the few artist-owned fine art production facilities in the world. Each photograph is printed on museum-grade photographic paper and mounted beneath acrylic to reveal remarkable color, depth, and detail.
Collectors may choose a contemporary acrylic mount or an artisan frame assembled in the studio and finished with a canvas-wrapped liner. Each piece arrives with a hanging solution, while LIK Fine Art gallery consultants are available to assist with sizing, framing, and placement. Explore the LIK Fine Art framing guide to learn more about presentation options.
What sizes and formats are Peter Lik celestial prints available in?
Peter Lik celestial prints are available in classic 3:2 photographic and panoramic formats, from 55 cm Open Editions up to select panoramic works more than nine feet long.
Each image keeps the composition Peter originally envisioned, whether a classic landscape or portrait or an expansive panorama that carries the night sky across the wall. For help selecting the right format and scale, explore the guide to choosing a portrait or landscape print. Related works can also be discovered in the Artemis II, Desert Photography, and Water Photography collections.
What is the difference between an Open Edition, Limited Edition, and Artist Proof?
Open Edition photographs are signed but not individually numbered and do not have a predetermined edition limit.
Limited Edition photographs are signed and individually numbered, with a fixed edition size listed on each artwork’s product page. Once every number in a Limited Edition has been reserved, the edition is permanently closed and no additional pieces are produced.
Artist Proofs belong to a separate, highly limited edition. Depending on the photograph, Artist Proof editions range from 10 to 45 individually numbered pieces. They are produced at a higher print resolution and presented beneath anti-reflective acrylic for exceptional clarity and detail.
