Peter Lik’s Groundbreaking Book Soars in AAF’s Final Round

After an incredible, and suspenseful, few months of earning its way through the first two tiers of the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) annual awards competition, Peter’s career-spanning big book, Equation of Time, received its highest honor to date this week in Anaheim. At ADMERICA 2016 – a multi-day event attended by brightest minds in the business – the Artist’s epic journey through 30 years of landscape photography was honored with a national Gold ADDY for its achievements in the category of Book Design.

On the evening of Tuesday, June 7, the AAF-sponsored event in Southern California capped off its run with the annual American Advertising Awards ceremony, celebrating the top creative brands and agencies in the country. This year, over 40,000 entries were narrowed down to a select few national winners across multiple categories. In front of an audience of roughly 800 professionals, and alongside the biggest names in the industry, Equation of Time was presented with the highly respected award, in “recognition of the highest level of creative excellence.”

This win marks the third time that Peter’s fine art photography book has been recognized by the AAF this year, having previously won both a Gold and Silver ADDY in the organization’s preliminary competitions. This final round triumph, which brought Peter and his design team to the national stage, could not mean more to the Artist: “This is one of the most respected organizations in the creative world,” Peter remarks. “To receive their praise at all is humbling. However, this honor is certainly extra special and I could not be more grateful.”
