Trekking through the snow on a freezing December evening I caught a glimpse of the moon through the birches. Transfixed, I watched as its light pierced through the cold night air finally breaking the spell to capture the moment forever on film. There was only stillness in the woods that evening–the birds that had greeted me in the morning were silent, leaving me to feel as though I was the only creature on the planet.
