This lonely dinghy drifting lazily on tranquil waters perfectly captures the mood of the Noosa River. I had come across this scene on an earlier shoot and decided to return at sunrise when I knew the wind would be low, allowing me a long exposure. I arrived early and sat on the banks of the river, watching the play of light reflecting off the glassy surface of the water. I wanted to shoot while the light was still quite low, to enhance the moody feel of the image, so timing was critical. Only a few moments after I captured this perfect shot, the sun broke through and the entire river was illuminated.
