Peter Lik Opens LIK Fine Art on Fifth Avenue

Updated

LIK Fine Art Fifth Avenue opened on September 18, 2026, at 689 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Near Rockefeller Center at East 54th Street, the new Peter Lik gallery brings large-format fine art photography to one of New York City’s most recognized addresses.

Inside, photographs of New York share the walls with landscapes, wildlife and scenes from Peter’s travels around the world. Multiple viewing rooms offer space to explore the collection, from smaller works to monumental, multi-panel Epic Editions spanning more than 12 feet.

For a photographer who has returned to New York for more than three decades, the opening carries a particular meaning: a new place to experience his photographs in the city that inspired them.

New York Through Peter Lik’s Lens

New York can feel entirely different from one block, season or hour to the next. Its skyline catches the last light of the day. Central Park offers quiet beneath the trees. Bridges and familiar streets take on another character as weather moves through the city.

Those changes have drawn Peter back throughout his career. His New York fine art photography collection follows both the city’s architectural scale and its quieter moments, finding subjects in its buildings, parks, waterfronts and shifting light.

The Fifth Avenue gallery brings selections from that work into a setting where visitors can spend time with each photograph. For New Yorkers, it offers a different view of a familiar place. For visitors, it is a way to connect an experience of the city with a work they can bring home.

Inside the Fifth Avenue Gallery

Two photographs anchor the gallery’s presentation: Sunday 5:47AM and Boulevard of Dreams. Displayed as multi-panel Epic Editions, each extends more than 12 feet across the wall.

Both turn toward Central Park. Sunday 5:47AM grew from a winter morning when a break in the rain left the park in mist. Boulevard of Dreams reflects Peter’s repeated returns to the park in search of the perspective and conditions that would reveal its character. Together, they bring the city’s quieter landscape into the gallery at an expansive scale.

Other featured works include Empire and Vintage Road, alongside photography from destinations around the world. Moving through the viewing rooms, visitors can compare subjects, proportions and presentations, then step closer to explore the details within each image.

From the Las Vegas Studio to the Gallery Wall

The finished print is central to the experience. LIK Fine Art produces its fine art prints in-house at its Las Vegas studio, overseeing printing, mounting, framing and finishing. Photographs are printed on fine art paper and presented under Crystal Clear acrylic.

At the gallery, carefully controlled lighting reveals color, contrast and detail across the finished work. Seeing a photograph at full scale allows visitors to move between the complete composition and the smaller details that give it depth.

A Landmark Address at 689 Fifth Avenue

The gallery occupies space within the former Aeolian Building, later known as the Elizabeth Arden Building. Constructed between 1925 and 1927, it was designed by Warren & Wetmore, the architectural firm associated with Grand Central Terminal.

The property received its New York City landmark designation in 2002. Today, LIK Fine Art brings a new gallery experience to an address with a long place in Manhattan’s cultural and commercial life.

Choosing Photography for Your Space

A gallery visit can begin with a photograph that catches your attention or a particular room you have in mind. Art Specialists help collectors explore subjects, available sizes and presentation options, with time to consider how a work might feel in a home or workplace.

Interior designers and architects can also discuss photography for residential, corporate and hospitality projects. Bring the dimensions of the wall and photographs of the room to help guide a conversation about scale, color, framing and lighting.

For dedicated time with the collection, contact a LIK Fine Art Specialist to request a private viewing and mention the Fifth Avenue gallery.
