After spending weeks shooting the classic areas of lavender in France, it was time to explore some less traveled roads and really search for the true spirit of this iconic landscape. Persistence paid off when this farmland scene opened up with a timeless view down a dirt path.

Low cloud cover added the perfect element to set the stage. It was time to shoot — and listening to the sound of the shutter along with the background humming of thousands of bees was something I will never forget. The tree was like artwork — adding a strong focal point that required careful composition.

The colors changed by the minute, constantly creating a new scene — truly one of Mother Nature’s most spectacular sights to see!
