Updated

Professional Photographers of America Lifetime Achievement Award

There’s some big news to report! Friday, October 31st brought the monumental announcement that Master Photographer Peter Lik will receive top honors from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) at the organization’s Imaging USA 2015 expo. Peter Lik will become one of only 13 photographers in history to receive the highly coveted Lifetime Achievement Award. Moreover, Peter is the only landscape photographer and youngest overall recipient to ever join this sacred category.

PPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to “an individual whose life’s work has enriched the photographic industry and the profession as a whole.” This is the most prestigious accolade offered by PPA - the world’s largest non-profit association for professional photographers.

PPA president, Susan Michal, spoke highly of Peter in a recent press release: “Peter’s accomplishments in photography speak for themselves, and he is very deserving of the Lifetime Achievement Award.” Peter has been a member of PPA since 2010 and earned his master of photography (M. Photog.) from the prominent institution.

Nothing could possibly mean more to the Australian-born trail blazer who was dubbed by PPA as “the most acclaimed photographer in the world.” Peter has time and time again proven his talents, greatly reflected in a myriad of impressive awards and titles. Yet, this historic moment may prove to conjure up a little more emotion than most. The award requires a literal lifetime of work, a vast portfolio boasting only the most exceptional of photographs. “I am overwhelmed and truly grateful” said the Master Photographer, Lik. “I just can’t believe how long I’ve been at this! Life happens in a bloody flash.”
