Peter Lik's Aspen Gallery Hits Eight Year Mark!

Updated
In less than a decade, Peter Lik’s gallery among the Colorado Rockies has become a hugely successful annex for the Artist’s industry-acclaimed landscape images.

Situated in the town’s historic Isis Theatre building – moments from the bustle of Restaurant Row – LIK ASPEN has drawn thousands of guests over the years, an incredible assortment of locals and visitors who enjoy the captivating escape from the slopes and blustery winds of the snowcapped region. The gallery’s impressive 8-year run can easily be attributed, in part, to both Peter’s passion for the local scenery and the dedication of his warm and welcoming staff.

Peter’s first encounter with the vast, natural setting of Aspen took place while exploring all 50 United States for his 2003 book, Spirit of America: “Aspen’s stunning landscape instantly became a destination I would shoot for years to come,” the Artist states, “not to mention it was the perfect spot to launch LIK ASPEN. From the mountain peaks and forests to the little tucked away ponds, streams – it is such a beautiful region.” To complement Aspen’s breathtaking, mountainous backdrop, Peter personally designed his gallery to include a charming, reclaimed wood ceiling and sweeping Brazilian wood floors.

John Szabo, LIK ASPEN Gallery Director, has been at the location for 6 of its 8 years and claims to have one of the best jobs in the area: “I work indoors in this beautiful place and have the pleasure of discussing Peter's amazing landscapes from around the world every day,” he remarked. Szabo’s inspiring sentiment and love for the craft is simply part of the gallery staff’s mantra – which undoubtedly keeps collectors returning time and time again. Featuring locally inspired works, such as the massive LIK EPIC, Yellow, this time-tested showcase of Peter’s Masterworks has officially engrained itself into the culture of Aspen, and is positioned to remain a popular fine art photography haven for years to come.
