Maui, Hawaii When I looked up to the top of these towering narrow falls I felt like an ant. I took a few vertical frames of the entire waterfall but thought I could do better. I sat down to grab a drink and stared to the bottom of the falls. I changed to a longer 180 mm lens and singled out the intricate patterns as the water sprayed .I chose a really long exposure to deliberately capture a painterly feel. I was rewarded when I first saw the transparency at the lab. I could feel the mountain mist refresh my soul and the gentle sounds of the cascades put me in the moment.
