Victoria, Australia Under the guise of darkness, these iconic rock formations take on an eerie, surreal feeling. I was fascinated by the strong shapes of the sandstone sentinels glowing in the moonlight. As the night wore on, the crashing ocean became a floor of clouds, and as I set the frame I could only hope to capture the restless mood of the moment. With my exposure at five minutes, and the precipitous nature of my location dictating composition, I sent up a silent prayer and took the shot. The resulting image blew me away–it had translated exactly how I’d wanted.
