There is something really special about an Aspen forest. The stark white trunks stand straight like monoliths, the leaves add color like an artist adds oil to their canvas. This morning the conditions were ideal, totally worth the days of wait. Low over cast skies provided beautiful pure light and the overnight dew really popped the colors. I’ll never forget the amazing smell of the leaves on the forest floor in the brisk mountain air. Composition was critical as I really wanted to highlight the beautiful formation of the group of 5 perfect trees in the foreground.
