Queensland, Australia On a summer’s night on my verandah, I looked out to the horizon and saw a major lightning storm developing in the distance. In a frantic race against time, I hurried to the lookout at Copperlode Dam just behind Cairns. As the storm bore down and working completely on instinct, I shot an entire roll of film. The difficult conditions made it possible to only guess the exposures. The resulting image stunned me—a true portrait of the wrath of Nature.
