Another Peter Lik Masterpiece Exhibited at Smithsonian

Updated

For the second consecutive year, Peter Lik has been honored by the prestigious Windland Smith Rice International Awards, a distinction that celebrates excellence in nature photography at the highest level. In 2011, Peter received the award for Inner Peace, a masterwork capturing the quiet beauty of a Japanese Maple in full summer bloom.

As part of this recognition, Inner Peace was selected for exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., where it was showcased from late April through September 2012. The exhibition brought together celebrated works of museum-quality fine art photography, placing Peter Lik’s work among images that represent the pinnacle of visual storytelling in the natural world.

This honor followed an equally significant achievement the previous year, when Peter’s photograph Ghost was also awarded and exhibited at both the Smithsonian and the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Together, these consecutive exhibitions reflect Peter Lik’s artistic journey and recognition across some of the most respected cultural institutions in the world.

With each accolade, Peter continues to push the boundaries of fine art photography—creating images that resonate emotionally, earn critical acclaim, and stand the test of time.
