LOTTE Championship Golfers Take Home Copies of ‘Hawaii,’ While Winner, Cristie Kerr, Receives ‘Equation of Time’
Sponsored by Peter Lik partner, Friends of Hawaii Charities (FOHC), the LPGA’s LOTTE Championship tournament just finished its sixth annual run on Saturday, April 15th, at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Oahu – once again successfully taking in vital funds to benefit the state’s communities in need. As a show of support and appreciation for participating in this highly regarded event, Peter generously (and fittingly) gifted each Pro-Am player with a copy of his photographic tribute to the islands, Hawaii, and the top golfer of the competition, Cristie Kerr, was presented with his career-spanning anthology, Equation of Time.
Art Consultant Napua Borsa of LIK Fine Art Waikiki, helped organize the presentation and was on hand to witness the excitement: “It was great to see so many well-known LPGA golfers show up and play their hearts out,” she recounts. We had tons of fun meeting them and honoring their contributions with Peter’s Book Hawaii – although the true excitement was presenting Cristie with a copy of Equation of Time. I don’t know if she was more overwhelmed by her win or the size of the book! It was an absolute pleasure working with FOHC, and the LOTTE team.”
This event marks the latest in a line of team-ups between Peter and philanthropic organization, FOHC, which focuses on aiding Hawaii’s “women, children, and impoverished.” Of course, Peter could not be more delighted to continue assisting a culture that has always warmly embraced his works: “Charity through art has become a personal mantra,” he states. “It’s always been about sharing the world’s beauty as much as possible. Getting to help the special people of Hawaii in the meanwhile just makes this life experience so much more rewarding. Thanks to all the golfers who participated and helped us make a difference.”
