The world’s most prominent organization in the field of professional photography has once again honored Master Photographer, Peter Lik, with a very meaningful distinction.
The philanthropic arm of Professional Photographers of America, PPA Charities – which channels thousands of dollars each year to worthwhile causes – has just bestowed its 2016 First Place Impact Award upon the Artist for his sublime imagery in Painted Shores and his dedicated commitment to “being a force for positive change in the lives of others.”
According to the PPA Charities website, the Impact Award competition is eligible to all donating PPA members who submit images, and is intended to “bring further awareness of the good works that can be done through charitable giving.” While multiple Peter Lik photographs were submitted to PPA this past year, it was the Artist’s Painted Shores which was given the first place title in such an honorable category. This acclaimed, sunset vision captured near Peter’s birthplace in Victoria, Australia, showcases an old wooden jetty, stretching out across the calm waters of Port Philip Bay.
Peter was also included among the Impact Award competition’s top ten finalists, for his work, Scarlet Moods, a highly sought after image that explores the contrast of color and texture during the winter months in Utah’s Deer Valley: “It is truly heartwarming to be included in such a generous and talented group of photographers who clearly care about the future of this planet and helping those in need,” remarked Peter. “The PPA has proven to have such an amazing impact on the world around us, and I am extremely proud to just be a member.”
Congrats, Peter!
