Grand Reopening for LIK HOUSTON!

Updated

Houston fans of Peter Lik’s fine art photography are enjoying an upgrade to this Texas-based gallery, which held a successful red carpet, grand-reopening on Friday, November 7. The joyous celebration marks Houston as a permanent fixture on Peter Lik’s map. LIK HOUSTON still resides comfortably within Simon Property Group’s The Galleria – just on a different level.

Surrounded by high-end boutiques and cafes, this new space from Peter Lik was certainly the big buzz on Friday night. Having relocated to the main floor – this larger and more modern space packed in a clamoring crowd of 200 enthusiastic art lovers. The evening featured delicious hors d’oeuvres from locally acclaimed chef Francesco Casetta and margaritas from the one of the event’s sponsors, Titanium Tequila. One lucky raffle winner went home with Peter’s open edition of “Jade Garden” (shown above) and another won a black & white LIK ELEMENTS AVIATOR PACK.

It was back in February 2013 when Peter Lik decided to open his first Houston gallery, not quite knowing what the future would hold: “I wanted to inject my photography into the lifeblood of the Texas art scene… take a chance and see what happens.” To Peter’s delight, the local support for his landscape images has been incredibly overwhelming – prompting the decision to take the gallery to the next level.

LIK HOUSTON boasts over 2,181 square feet of brand new space and is complemented by a hand-chiseled, stone façade of basalt imported from China. Inside, the thermo-treated elm floors warmly welcome art lovers, while the white and gray walls emphasize Peter’s visions of starlit nights, vast fields of lavender, and the soft sands of the desert. Now, with an impressive 14 galleries around the United States, Peter Lik has further established himself as a leader in the world of fine art photography.
