Lifetime Achievement Award

After decades of building an exceptional portfolio and garnering hundreds of awards, Peter Lik receives possibly the most meaningful praise of his career. In 2015, Peter became only the 13th photographer in history to receive the highly coveted PPA Lifetime Achievement Award, which is presented to “an individual whose life’s work has enriched the photographic industry and the profession as a whole.” Peter is also the only landscape photographer and youngest overall recipient to ever join this sacred category. This occasion marked a huge milestone for Peter, further establishing him as a true leader in the world of fine art photography.

After a successful win at the 2010 Windland Smith Rice International Awards for his image Ghost, Peter’s haunting piece was subsequently selected as part of a 2011 exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. This world-famous photograph was taken at one of Peter’s most beloved locations: Antelope Canyon, Arizona. As incoming sunlight illuminates the underground canyon, a ghostly aura is created.

Following the success of Ghost, Peter garnered another Windland Rice win in 2011 with his masterwork, Inner Peace, one of the Master Photographer’s most awarded pieces. This majestic vision of a Japanese Maple was also selected as part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian in 2012.
