The Art of Printing
Ansel Adams once said, “The negative is comparable to the composer’s score and the print to its performance.” This sentiment remains true, whether the negative is digital or analog. With a lifelong dedication to capturing images with the highest quality cameras and lenses, Peter demands that the same passion and precision are evident in the final print.
Epson SureColor Printing Technology
Precision Meets Brilliance We use the advanced Epson SureColor printing technology to ensure every image maintains the finest details and most vibrant hues. This technology includes Epson’s PrecisionCore® MicroTFP printhead and UltraChrome® PRO12 Ink system, which enables us to reach a 99% Pantone® color gamut for the most accurate color reproduction. The result is a print that captures the full spectrum of colors in Peter Lik’s photography, with exceptional depth, dimension, and clarity.
Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper
Bringing Each Scene to Life To elevate each piece, we’ve partnered with Hahnemühle, a renowned German paper manufacturer with over 400 years of expertise. We use Hahnemühle’s Fine Art paper, which adds a premium finish to each print. This surface enhances the vivid colors, sharp contrast, and subtle details in Peter Lik’s work, creating a lifelike quality that draws the viewer into each scene.
Environmental Responsibility
Sustainability is integral to our process. Hahnemühle maintains environmentally conscious practices, using sustainably sourced fibers and operating on renewable energy. Their vegan-certified, chemical-free paper production reduces ecological impact, allowing us to create art that respects both nature and collectors who value environmental stewardship.
The LIK Fine Art “Lightshow”
Within each LIK Fine Art gallery, artwork is presented under a “Lightshow” — a controlled lighting system designed to illuminate each piece at optimal color temperatures. This unique setup enhances the fine art print, highlighting color, contrast, and texture with unmatched clarity, allowing visitors to experience the full impact of each photograph.
Limited Editions and the Artist Proofs
Limited Edition (LE): These images are produced using a time-honored process that, while slow and costly, delivers unparalleled results. This method ensures each print reflects the vibrancy and depth that Peter Lik is renowned for.
Artist Proof (AP): These prints are created at double the resolution (2400 PPI) of the Limited Edition and are finished with a museum-grade acrylic featuring an anti-reflection coating with 91.5% efficacy. This patented acrylic technology allows you to view your art virtually glare-free, even under challenging lighting conditions such as art lights or reflected sunlight. The Artist Proof collection is limited to just 45 pieces, making it an exclusive choice for the most discerning collectors.
